So sad [12 Feb 2008|10:55am] Korea's no.1 treasure burned down on the weekend!!!  I'm lucky to have seen it before, but it makes me so sad it happened!! It's not in this article, but in a Korean article it said the arsenist did it to get back ot the government for not giving him moeny for something.... what a jackass.... I need YOUR opinion [23 Nov 2007|02:45pm] OK, so I'm about to teach this unit out of my text book...it's about inviting people over and how to accept and decline invitations.  HOWEVER!  For some STUPID reason half this unit is about how Americans wear their shoes indoors, all day.  I don't know about you, but I do not know ANY one who wears their shoes indoors....some my have indoor shoes, like slippers and some will run in with their shoes on if they forgot something, but I don't know anyonewho wears them all the time. I want YOUR opinion about wearing shoes indoors to quote.  And if I can use a photo of you in a power point.  This would be great if you could do this, and please keep the language as simple as possible.  There are some who speak very little English. [21 Sep 2007|03:10pm] well... it's the friday before chusok. I will not have the internet untill october 1st. And I will b\not be at school for the next 5 days.... so if I'm to check my internet I have to go to a firneds or to a PC cafe (방) I played Jenga with some students today ( 다은 & 민경 That's for my memorey I can not remember people's names!) I've danced for some of my students... they are learning "stronger, faster" and other er words, so I played Daft Punks "Harder, better, faster, stonger" for them, they loved it. I have arm wrestled students. There was a fist fight in one of my classes.... they were just told to stand at the walls.. in canada, they would have been at LEAST suspended. I have a phone!!! 010-5715-5977 but I need to look up how to call outside of this area... or you can. I do have Skype on my computer, so once I get the internet, I'll be skyping it up to you all. There are funny smells here.... It rains.... a lot. I guess it's typhoon season. I've already had one umbrella distroied. But the new one I got is super cute. Clothes are...interesting.... On top, I'm a size ~95 (that's GREAT for my self esteem!) the average size seems to be 55-66. My shoes are 260... most stores only go up to 250 (bastards..even the "extra large shoe store" We think it's "extra large" because the acctual store is big. There they laughed us out... My "too big" feet can stomp on you! I have found some clothes that fit, but they are not the cheap ones!!! (I get sent to the "specailty sizes") Drivers are CRAZY, but I'm getting used to it. People make up their own laws and lanes. They don't care that a transport truck is inches from them, they will still u-turn. and motor bike seem to have no laws. they are the craziest. My first week here I saw one get hit by a car! I've got a good little possy of peeps. It's all good I love my co-teacer. She took me out with her friends last night and we went to the outback steakhouse, then to a coffe house (by the Ikea!) There was a smattering of English, mostly Korean, but it was fun. They asked me about what kind of boys I like...ect. mmmm I saw my mom the other night. She lives above a very happening bar district that is going well into the morning. There is no last call. So there are neon lights blasing into her room and loud noise all night, mainly on the weekends. I love flavoured Soju (like korean vodka/sake)..especailly peach. I'll be having some tonight! mmmm.... I went to a DVD 방 for the first time the other night. They are privet rooms where you can rent movies and watch them... They are usually for couples, but there were 3 of us, whatever. There was plenty of room for more. We saw the "Benchwarmers" Ha-Lar-ious. mmmm... There is a live squid tank by my apartment. I like looking at them. I've met people from all around the world it's awesome. I'm going into Seoul tomorrow to meet up with a friend, Seo (male). Not sure what we'll do, but I hope it'll be fun! One hour left at school and I have nothing to do, but my co-teacher is busy :( I have a korean name now hahah! I'm not sure how spell it just yet... it's similar to my name, but it's like Jeni-beautiful. Kyoeun's friends gave it to me ta 4 comments|post comment
